THE RAMEIKA FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER
Congressional School is thrilled to announce the completion of our latest campus Capital Project: Our Swimming Pool Renovation. Our pool has always been a highlight of our campus, and we are excited to share the new and redesigned Rameika Family Aquatic Center. Explore this page to learn more about the history of our pool, and the newly completed Swimming Pool Renovation Project made possible by invaluable members of our Congressional family for our Congressional family.
THANK YOU, RAMEIKA FAMILY!
Over the last several years, Congressional School and Camp developed a pool fund knowing this large scale strategic capital project would be required in the near future. Through the fund, two-thirds of the needed amount was raised. The school planned to raise the remaining money through The Red Carpet Gala 2020 and other fundraising efforts. Due to COVID-19, the Gala's fundraising initiatives pivoted to more urgent needs.
Not wanting to see the project put aside for a later date, Edy '86 and Sean Rameika GP ’25 ’27 stepped up to give the largest gift in our school's history to cover the deficit. Their generosity has allowed us to complete plans for our new pool and splash zone and accelerate the timeline.
We are extremely grateful for the Rameika family and their history of support for Congressional School, our teachers, our students, and the generations to come.
"This past year was not an easy one. Plans had to be changed, priorities shifted, and sometimes progress was derailed. Understandably, we had to shift our focus to address more immediate and urgent issues. Because of all of this, Sean and I decided that we’d like to help the Congressional community continue moving forward with the renovation of the pool. We believe this will benefit our school in so many ways in the long run that we hated to see its improvement postponed. We hope this will give us all something to look forward to in the future." - Edy Rameika '86
"We are immensely grateful to the Rameika family for their generous and impactful gift. Their generosity has turned our long-planned pool renovation into an imminent reality. We are excited for the many ways it will positively impact the lives of Congressional School students and thousands of local area children who attend Congressional Camp.” - Dr. Edwin P. Gordon, Head of School
FEATURES
Knowing that the pool required updates allowed us to explore new possibilities for its structure and use. The new splash zone and pool are designed to be inclusive for all ages—from our infants and toddlers to the adults in our community. The pool now spotlights a gradual beach entrance, water features, anchored pool float toys, and of course our beloved water slide and diving board. We are looking forward to the pool enhancing our camp experience in addition to offering after school swim lessons and being incorporated into our PE program.

Note: Water features are illustrations and subject to final selection at a further date.
THE HISTORY OF OUR POOL
Our pool was originally built in 1964 shortly after opening the campus we use today on Sleepy Hollow Road. Through its primary use of serving our renowned summer camp, thousands of families have enjoyed cooling off and splashing around on hot days.
Our pool was and will continue to be a highlight of our campus and an area to play, relax, and gather as a school community.
