PARENT COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY
To ensure the health and safety of our entire School community, Congressional School will implement a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Parents in buildings and other spaces on campus. This policy is effective September 1, 2021.
COVID-19 Vaccination
Congressional School requires parents to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 in order to enter the classrooms and other campus spaces for designated events by invitation. Parents may display proof of vaccine on a smartphone or by showing a physical copy of the vaccination card or official vaccination record. This information will be collected by our School Nurse and parent privacy will be maintained.
“Full vaccination “ means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines or that 14 days have passed since receiving the sole dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines.
Those unvaccinated parents must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to attending an on-campus event.
Masks
Masks will be required at all times for all parents and adults while in the buildings and all indoor spaces as well as while outside on campus, regardless of vaccination status.
Amidst the ongoing effects of COVID-19, we continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and parents. We are committed to following national and local guidelines for safety and health during this pandemic. Therefore, we are asking parents to comply with these policies in order to be admitted inside the school buildings. Together, our efforts will slow the spread of the virus and create a safe and healthy teaching and learning environment for all.
Congressional School and COVID-19 Guidance
Congressional School’s COVID-19 guidance is developed in collaboration with the Head of School’s appointed COVID-19 Medical Advisory Council along with the CDC, Virginia Department of Health, and Fairfax County Health Department.
Please Note
This policy is subject to change as national and local guidelines are updated in response to COVID-19. While we will follow the most up-to-date public health procedures to ensure the health and safety of our community, these are not absolute protection against contracting COVID-19. Parents assume their own risk by entering the campus facilities.
IF YOU ARE SICK, PLEASE STAY HOME
If you or someone in your household doesn’t feel well, has exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 in the previous 14 days, or has been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the previous 14 days, please stay home.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we begin to expand opportunities for parents to come to campus. These opportunities will be by invitation with the above COVID-19 vaccine policy in place.
