Community Helpers in Small Sizes
This week, in Ms. Rice’s Junior Kindergarten class the students continued their ongoing study of community helpers. They discussed the many different people who work every day in the communities, and the class was particularly interested in construction workers. They decided to see what it was like to work in the world of building and construction. Using donated recycled materials, they made their own structure. The students voted on what kind of project they would build, and had to work together as a whole group to create it. With only tape, boxes, plastic bottles and their imaginations, they created a masterpiece! The class castle was a result of cooperation and hard work, and enabled the students to be designers, builders and part of a team!
