VAUGHN WILLIAMS
Science Teacher (Grades 6/8)

Vaughn Williams joined the Congressional School community in the fall of 2024 as our grades 6/8 Science teacher. He attended Stanford University in the mid 1980s, where he played on the football team and majored in Human Biology. He has an extensive coaching background, including roles as graduate assistant at SDSU, secondary coach at MIT (1990-1993), and defensive coach at Stanford (1994.) He began teaching middle school in Los Altos, California, discovering a passion for translating complex scientific concepts for young learners. Vaughn married his wife Karen in 1990, and together they have three children who are now transitioning into adulthood. Vaughn taught in Texas for 19 years before moving to Los Angeles and Seattle for his wife’s corporation adventure. In addition to his teaching and coaching career, Vauhgn is dedicated to community service and helping others. He has volunteered at the LightHouse for the Blind and the downtown Braille Library in Seattle.
