Lis joined the Congressional team in 2023 as the 5th and 6th Grade English Teacher and a 5th Grade Advisor. Lis has many years of experience teaching English and ESOL in public and private schools here in the U.S. As a diplomatic spouse, she has also enjoyed the opportunity to live, travel, and teach in other countries, most recently Botswana. Lis strives to create a welcoming, supportive, and challenging learning environment for students. She believes that the development of students' reading and writing skills helps them to thrive as individuals and to make a positive contribution to their communities. When not in the classroom, Lis can be found spending time with her husband and children, as well as her cat Dikgafela. Her favorite hobbies include hiking, cooking, yoga, and reading.
