JOHN CAVANAUGH

Middle School History and Latin Teacher

John joined Congressional in 1976. As the longest serving member of our faculty, John has spent 42 years teaching history and Latin to Middle School students. Before he came to Congressional, John spent three years as a German Teacher at Georgetown Preparatory School. Since coming to Congressional, he has taught both History and Latin to countless Congressional students. For over four decades, Congressional students have looked forward to the opportunity to come back to Congressional to visit Mr. Cavanaugh. John enjoys cooking and preparing meals for friends and relatives. When he’s not at school, he enjoys reading historical fiction and biographies and spending time with family and friends.
