KAY LAUREN MILLER
Senior Director of Innovation and Educational Programs, Instructional Coach: Early Childhood and Primary School
B.A., Sociology and Linguistics, Georgetown University
M.A., Special Education, Emphasis on Learning Disabilities, American University
Kay Lauren Miller's dream was always to be a teacher and work with children who learned differently. Her parents would often find her in my room playing school with her dolls and pets as students, a mini chalkboard, and recreating lessons that her own teachers taught her. For the past thirteen years, she has worked at a private school for students with learning disabilities in Washington, DC and believe it is her job to teach to her students’ unique strengths and to develop their confidence in themselves and their abilities.
When she is not teaching, Kay Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, pampering her Miniature Australian Shepherd, and attending all DC sporting events.
"I am so excited to join the team at Congressional School, where I feel supported to continue embracing the individual talents and learning styles of each student."
