VERA ZOLOTARSKAYA

Vera Zolotarskaya joined the Congressional School Board of Trustees in 2020 and will also serve on its Audit and Finance Committees. Vera has two daughters attending Congressional, a 7th grader and a 3rd grader. She is also a proud host of a Russian table at Congressional’s annual International Night.

Vera has been a finance professional for over 15 years. She is currently a Senior Accountant in the International Monetary Fund overseeing its financial operations with member countries. In this role, Vera is involved in developing and implementing the IMF financial policy, ensuring smooth execution of financial transactions with member countries, preparing financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards, maintaining a strong control system in the IMF’s financial operations, coordinating the external audit, and supporting the IMF’s External Audit Committee. Vera’s prior role in the IMF included conducting due diligence assessments of central banks of the member countries that receive financial assistance from the IMF. This included evaluating and providing recommendations for improvement of central banks’ financial reporting practices, auditing mechanisms, internal control and risk management practices, as well as their legal structure and autonomy. Prior to joining the IMF, Vera was a Senior Manager in audit services at the Moscow, Russia office of Deloitte.

Vera earned a master’s degree in math from the Moscow State University. She also holds a CFA certification and an international accounting certification (ACCA).
