COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Foundations for Algebra II course is designed for students entering pre-algebra in the fall. This course provides practice for early concepts and a review of mathematical skills and strategies to explore the intuitive understanding of numbers. Students will develop an early understanding of key concepts leading to theories of linear relationships and probability.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Develop and use strategies to solve problems that require proportional reasoning
- Recognize problem situations in which two or more variables have a linear relationship to each other.
- Understand equivalence - two expressions are deemed equivalent with an equal sign
- Explore and develop probability models by identifying possible outcomes and analyze probabilities to solve problems.
