Selvin Akkus-Clemens, originally from Istanbul, Turkey, is a Senior Financial Economist at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She works there with enforcement attorneys as a securities litigation economic expert. Prior to the SEC, she was a Senior Financial Economist at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), working to measure the economic impact of PCAOB’s audit standards. Selvin was also an Economist at Bates White Economic Consulting, providing economic analysis in antitrust and merger litigations.
In the past, Selvin has served as a room parent as well as a CSPO member representing the Little School. She, her husband, and their two children (classes of ’30 and ’33) have been members of the Congressional community since 2017 and are excited for the many years to come.
